Farming Today is on BBC Radio 4 at 0545 every weekday. Due to being on CET, I can listen to this fine programme most mornings while gradually regaining consciousness. Me, I’m a townie through and through, though my Dad was born and bred in the Yorkshire Dales, and great-grandfather Earnest was a North Yorkshire farmer. Lately I’ve been following the debate on badger culling (Deutsch: der Dachs). I have to say I am still pretty “agnostic” on the issue, but I am, to quote the great F E Smith, 1st Earl of Birkenhead,
None the wiser, perhaps, My Lord, but certainly better informed.
Does anyone think of Kinky Boots on hearing this number? 😉
