Zimbabwe – Muhondo! Muhondo!

So, surprise, surprise, Uncle Bob won the Zimbabwean General Election once again.  The war hero, who came to power in 1980.  Let’s look at Yoweri Museveni of Uganda once said.

Elections free and fair?  Free of democracy and fairly fraudulent.  Don’t worry, Uncle Bob, your days are numbered.  As a “devout Roman Catholic,” you are probably familiar with the Biblical passage, Daniel 5:25-27.  You can lock up your opponents.  You can cheat at elections, but you will never break your people’s aspirations for freedom, democracy and a brighter future. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/18/robert-mugabe-rome_n_2900112.html

It took Eastern Europe nearly fifty years to be freed from tyranny.  Let us hope and pray that it will take somewhat less for Zimbabwe.

Muhondo!  Muhondo!  Muhondo!

  1. Problem ist die Korruption.

  2. All power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

All political lives, unless they are cut off in midstream at a happy juncture, end in failure, because that is the nature of politics and of human affairs.
Enoch Powell, Joseph Chamberlain (Thames and Hudson, 1977), p. 151.
